I see the term “God-fearing” used a lot in books and television, and I would suspect, personal ads, when, usually, a single woman says she wants a “God-fearing” man. Why on Earth would you want one of those?

If god is all knowing and all watching, why do we have to dedicate so much time to letting him know that we know he’s watching and we… what? Appreciate it? But if he knows all, then doesn’t he know we’re appreciative of his works?

I know, that sounds like a horrifically silly question. Bizarrely, I think it does have merit though, and if you’ll stick with me on an explanation of Pokemon and, in particular, the game Pokemon Go, I think you’ll find something quite interesting.

Isn’t prayer really just taking “god’s” name in vain? If nothing else, you seem to be trying to annoy an all-powerful being with your petty concerns. Is that really a good idea?
